Welcome to Miracles, the Loaves and Fishes newsletter! This is the program’s way of keeping our friends and supporters up to date on happenings at the program. It’s also a periodic reminder that we need your continuing support of our work serving those of our neighbors who need a free hot meal on Saturdays, Sundays and federal holidays.
JANUARY 2018 UPDATE:
CELEBRATING 50 YEARS!
As many of you know, the Loaves and Fishes program was founded in 1968, which means this year is our 50th ANNIVERSARY! If you haven't read our story, you can find more details on the About Us page of our website.
We are excited to celebrate the history of the program, our guests, and the volunteers who have helped develop and influenced the program throughout the years. Be on the lookout for more information about our celebratory happenings! We will send details through this newsletter, as well as from our facebook page and website.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BROTHER!!
This month, we celebrated the 60th birthday of our beloved Chef Harold Johnson, also known as Brother! Brother has been one of the pillars of this program for many years, and we are thankful for his dedication, kindness, and delicious food.
Hawaiian gizzards. These treats made quite a splash with Loaves and Fishes guests on the 3rd Sunday this January!
Please feel free to share this newsletter with folks you know who would like to know more about the oldest church-based free meal program in the Washington, D.C., metro area.: *|FORWARD|*
